DreamHost is superb hosting, for a budget. So, while I've gotten some great service there, sometimes it's been just okay too. You can't expect it to be the finest dedicated hosting in the world, though I find that it's pretty dang good.
The other thing about them that I love, are their "one click installs". You can install WordPress, Joomla, ZenCart, Gallery, and more, all with just a click. It's fantastic, and worth the price of admission.

Dreamhost is packed full of features, gives you tons of bandwidth and disk space and best of all unlimited almost everything: unlimited domains to host, unlimited emails, unlimited SQ: databases. Service is good. Use coupon code 50_BUCKS_OFF to get $50 off a 1 or 2 year plan (or $25 off a monthly plan).

Dreamhost has been a "household name" in domain and website hosting for years now. Their extremely large quotas in disk space and bandwidth allowance have given them trouble in the past, but during most of my hosting with them I have had no problems whatsoever.
The plans come jam-packed with features, access options, ready-made installations of popular software and a free domain registration for a year. The plan prices are reasonable for what you get, and as they seem to have resolved the problems plaguing their datacentres with uptime and accessibility, I see no reason not to recommend them as a personal web host.

After years with multiple hosters (quest started in the 90s) I finally settled with Dreamhost. I really love it and I think you will to.

Before I changed to Dreamhost, I have read about many other webhosts. For the price I'm paying. Dreamhost is worth every penny. There was 1-2 very-short downtimes a few months back but not a big deal.

If you need a lot of space, and tons of bandwidth on the cheap, then dreamhost is for you...otherwise, there are many other hosts out there that provide better on pretty much everything else.
I really don't like their control panel, and that is saying a lot, since I have tried Plesk since its early/ugly days.
Their customer support isn't too bad, but they need tons of work to compete with some of the other hosts I have had. There is no "personal touch" feelings when dealing with Dreamhost.
Would not recommend this host to others.
